Ancient Indo-Greek Drachm Coin Pendant Circa 170-150 B.c>

845-00051

Minted under the rule of Apollodotus I (160-150 B.C.), this coin demonstrates the Greek influence by the very name of it's denomination - the Greek drachm. Greek is also found on the inscription of the king's name on the elephant side of the coin. The drachms of the Apollodotus are some of the earliest of the Indo-Greek coins which are bilingual. Featuring both a side inscribed with the king's name in Greek, and a reverse side with it's distinctive Indian Brahma bull written in traditional Kharoshthi script. This coin is mounted in 18K with 1.10tdw diamonds.

This coin is pictured with 19" multi-strand black spinel necklace with vermeil elephant detail. Purchased separately, style #757-00127, $5365.
